Presenter of Welcome Party: Alda Sigmundsdóttir

My name is Alda Sigmundsdóttir and I am a writer, journalist and blogger based in Iceland. From 2004-2010 this site was primarily the venue for my blog. On it I mostly chronicled what life was like in Iceland, culminating in a play-by-play account of the 2008 economic meltdown, and the ensuing fall-out.

I still blog occasionally, but over on my own personal website. Most of my Iceland updates are on my Facebook page, though.

I am the author of several books, all of which deal with Iceland in one way or another. My latest book, released in March 2015, is The Little Book of the Hidden People.

I also make myself available for speaking engagements and consultation services. Feel free to explore this website and to contact me with any queries.
